The origins of Sour Diesel are unclear although it is believed to have sprung into existence when an Original Diesel was pollinated by a strain known as DNL (Northern Lights/Shiva x Hawaiian). It is a sativa-dominant strain although it has the hard-hitting effect of an indica.
Sour Diesel is a tall, lanky plant and one which responds very well to topping, bending, SCRoG etc. in order both to tame its tendency to grow tall and also to even-up the canopy leading to better light exposure and therefore bigger yields. Even with training its height will double in flower and left untrained it will become unwieldy indoors. It takes a full 10 weeks of flowering to be ready for harvest at which time the grow room will have a very strong smell of fuel/citrus and Skunk. Yields are between 450 - 550 gr/m2 indoors.
The light green buds will have an even stronger scent when dried and then crumbled for use with diesel fuel, citrus, lemon and spice to the fore with a little Skunk for good measure. The effect is hard and fast and a little numbing which is good for those with nerve and muscle pain although it is not long-lasting in this regard.
