Dr. Grinspoon is an heirloom sativa strain that was named after Dr. Lester Grinspoon, researcher, author and advocate of the cannabis plant. It is an extremely potent strain that produces 26% THC.
It is a tall, slender plant that grows to about a meter and a half tall, give or take 10 cm. As a pure sativa strain it takes a long while to develop its flowers and mature - about 100 days is the norm. Yields are very average with 350 gr/m2 being usual. It can be grown very successfully outdoors but only in warmer climate regions as its late harvest time means that, in northern latitudes, it won't be ready until the end of November. Unlike most other strains of cannabis that the reader might be familiar with Dr. Grinspoon does not produce recognisable buds but, rather, the flowers resemble a loose collection of beads dusted with resin along its stems.
It is a very fruity strain with the piercing aroma of lemon and sumac; its light smoke is a cocktail of tropical fruit aromas that leads in to a very strong, long-lasting high full of cerebral energy. Definitely not a night-time smoke unless you want to stay awake all night!
