Northern Light(s) originated in California and was said to be a pure indica although some of the original eleven plants also contained Thai genetics. What is certain is that the Northern Light(s) strains available today have been heavily hybridised and so the exact composition is a little unclear. Royal Queen's version is an S1 version that is heavily indica-dominant apart from its wide inter-nodal spacing and long, thin, sativa leaves.

Northern Light grows to about 100 - 120 cm. tall indoors or around 200 cm. if grown outdoors in a warm-ish climate such as that of the Mediterranean or California. Indoors yields are very good with between 500 - 550 gr/m2 being harvested in 7 - 8 weeks of flowering under 600 watt lights. Outdoors yields are approximately 625 gr/plant, if given sufficient sun and nutrients, with harvest time being in late September in northern latitudes. During the flowering stage the buds reveal their density and are liberally covered in resin crystals.

The smoke is smooth and rich and its 18% THC and medium CBD levels produce a strong stone that will have smokers rooted to the spot for a while until they get their bearings. The potency of the Afghani genetics shines through and it is now wonder that Northern Light(s) has formed a part of so many top-quality cannabis hybrid strains.
